Bluebell hit the pause button on the remote right when credits appeared on his TV screen. Cat watched him get up from the couch they both sat on, presumably to grab another cup of coffee.

"Do you want to watch one more?" Bluebell asked.

"Yes, I should have time." Then Cat added, "Hopefully the next episode will be better."

"Just pretend it isn’t canon." Bluebell shrugged. "I agree, the characterization in the A-plot was off and I didn't like the B-plot."

"So you're using bad writing to excuse the whole thing?" Cat grinned from his place on the couch.

"Yup!" Bluebell poured more coffee into his mug before drizzling maple syrup into it, swirling the drink with a spoon.

Cat rose, deciding that he could also use a refill. For the few years Cat had known him, Bluebell always, always took his coffee the same way. It bordered on utilitarian. Once, Cat had seen him begrudgingly dump a packet of sugar into a cup he'd bought from a train station shop while they were investigating on the road. He hadn't finished it.

"Also," Bluebell spoke up again, "I'm going to the shooting range this weekend. I think this place has classes, you should sign up if you ever want to be within 10 feet of a gun again." He hadn't forgotten the rash actions Cat had taken when Avernus was attacked.

"Right, that's not a bad idea," Cat said, not wanting to press that line of conversation further.
